DEAR DR. RAND PAUL
Dear Dr. Paul:
I wish to extend to you and your family my heart-felt congratulations on the occasion of your overwhelming victory yesterday in the Republican U.S. Senate primary in Kentucky. Your “randslide” ( as the media is calling it ) is a powerful reflection of the Great Awakening sweeping America which the Tea Party movement embodies.
Your victory over the entrenched, “business-as-usual” Republican establishment. . .

MATT APPEALS TO VOTERS - Don't split the vote
Dear 33rd District Voter:
New developments in the race for 33rd Assembly District make it more critical than ever for conservatives not to split their votes on June 8, but to unite behind one conservative who can win.
Several recent surveys in the District put me in the lead over Katcho Achadjian:
Regardless of the methodology of each of these surveys and the varying "point spreads," they are all consistent in three respects:
1. Matt Kokkonen is leading the race
2. This is a Kokkonen vs. Katcho race
3. Etta Waterfield trails in a distant third place

ENFORCE THE 14th AMENDMENT TO STOP ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION
According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform ( FAIR ), the cost of illegal immigration to California taxpayers is $10.5 billion per year. That figure represents half of the projected state budget deficit for the next year, meaning that illegal immigration is contributing hugely to the massive budget shortfalls California faces year in and year out.
Our educational system alone is spending $7.7 billion per year to educate the children of illegal immigrants in our public schools where these children now constitute more than 15% of the student pool. Another $1.4 billion is going to pay for health care to illegal immigrants and their kin which is about the same amount being spent to house illegal immigrant criminals in our prison system. The cost per California household is almost. . .

THE CLIMATE CHANGE HOAX
Global warming is probably one of the most contentious issues currently. Al Gore’s film, “An Inconvenient Truth”, documents his belief that humans are the cause of this warming and of an impending catastrophe on the planet. Therefore, many experts call for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide.
Dissenting experts claim that global warming is cyclical as evidenced by the several historical ice ages and periods of warming. They also point out that the increase in carbon dioxide has always followed periods of warming rather than being caused by the warming.

NEWS FLASH!!
New Survey Has Matt Kokkonen Way Ahead!
SAN LUIS OBISPO -- San Luis Obispo financial planner and 2008 Republican Congressional nominee Matt Kokkonen is way ahead in the race for 33rd Assembly District, according to a new online survey of Republican voters in the District.
The new survey, released today by Carmel Advertising of Monterey County, shows Kokkonen leading with 52.7% of the vote, more than twice the percentage received by the second-ranking candidate, San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Katcho Achadjian who had 21.6%.
The poll was conducted online to more than 16,000 predominantly high-propensity voting Republicans in the 33rd Assembly District and included questions about how to balance the state budget and the job performances of Governor Schwarzenegger, Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee, and Senator Abel Maldonado as well as the State Legislature itself.
On the issue of the state budget, the three top choices for balancing the budget were a 10% across-the-board cut in state departments and agencies, reducing the number of state employees, and abolishing state commissions and agencies.
Most Republicans disapproved of the job Governor Schwarzenegger is doing ( 65.3% to 21.6% ) and also of the job the State Legislature is doing ( 92.8% to 3.6% ). 51.3% opposed the job State Senator and Lieutenant Governor-designate Abel Maldonado is doing while 65.3% approved of Assemblyman Sam Blakeslee’s job performance.
The survey validates other recent polling data, including one conducted by Farm Team Consulting of Sacramento in late October which showed Kokkonen eight points ahead of Achadjian.

SLO TRIBUNE SAYS:
"MATT KOKKONEN WOULD WIN"
The San Luis Obispo Tribune says in its October 27 "Political Notebook" column that SLO financial adviser and past Assembly and Congressional candidate Matt Kokkonen "would win the Republican primary" for 33rd Assembly District if "it were held today."
According to Tribune reporter Bob Cuddy, an online survey of over 12,000 likely Republican voters in the 33rd District conducted by Farm Team Consulting (a Republican political consulting firm based in Sacramento) showed Kokkonen "leading San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Katcho Achadjian 44 percent to 36 percent." None of the other candidates — including Santa Maria Planning Commissioner Etta Waterfield garnered even 10% support among GOP voters.
Even allowing for a margin of error, Cuddy quoted Farm Team Consulting president Andrew Russo as saying "this appears to be a two-way race between Katcho and Matt Kokkonen, regardless of who may be on top at this point."
The Tribune said the survey identified the state budget crisis as the most important issue facing California today (33 percent), followed by illegal immigration (19 percent), "other" (15 percent) and jobs and the economy (14 percent). Six percent said the cost of public employee salaries and pensions was the "state’s most pressing problem," and five percent cited water.
The 33rd Assembly District seat is being vacated by Sam Blakeslee who is term-limited out. The District includes all of San Luis Obispo County as well as Santa Maria, Lompoc, Guadalupe, and Orcutt in Santa Barbara County.
