KOKKONEN TO DELIVER ANTI-TAX PETITIONS TO GOVERNOR, LEGISLATORS

SAN LUIS OBISPO-33rd Assembly District candidate and Republican frontrunner Matt Kokkonen plans to deliver more than 400 signed petitions from local residents opposed to tax increases in next year's state budget.

"We launched this on-line petition drive a few weeks ago to mobilize people in the 33rd District against a new round of tax increases. Right now, California families are getting ready to pay their state income taxes and are feeling a heavy hit, especially from the huge slash in the dependent exemption credit. I'll be delivering these petitions personally to the Governor's office as well as to the offices of Sen. Maldonado and Assemblyman Blakeslee, urging no tax increases in the new budget," said Kokkonen.

Kokkonen -- whose campaign motto is "Spend Less. Tax Less" -- has vowed to vote against any and all tax increases if elected to the Assembly, while promising to take on issues such as bloated public employee pensions "which are bleeding our state dry" as well as the escalating cost of illegal immigration.

Matt Kokkonen is a San Luis Obispo financial planner and political activist. In 2008, he was the Republican nominee for Congress in the 23rd District, receiving over 80,000 votes. Currently, he is a candidate for State Assembly in the 33rd District.
